Balinese Hindu wedding ceremony is a sacred wedding ritual and consists of series of ceremonies that should be followed. Couples who want to marry in Full Legal Balinese Hindu ceremony should have Hindu faith. To become Hindu there will be ceremony kind of baptism ceremony under Hindu faith which is called “Sudi Wadani ceremony” This ceremony must be acknowledge by Hindu Ministry Office (Parisadha Hindu Dharma Indonesia) and declared in the paper that you intended to hold Hindu religion without force from other party.
Pleased to inform you that Balinese Hindu wedding ceremony is different from Indian Hinduism wedding ceremony.
For the couple who don’t wish to bind in to Hindu religion and don’t want to have “Sudi Wadani Ceremony” they might consider to have a Balinese blessing ceremony instead of Hindu religious wedding.
Balinese Heritage Blessing is more have feeling with Balinese spirit and have some traditional ceremony way to celebrate the joy as a new person in traditional Balinese culture to have a long life together. This more culture experience to all people, even though not an Hindus person.
In Balinese wedding theme ceremony couple will be dress up in Balinese traditional wedding costume also entertained by Balinese dances and traditional music. A simple blessing by Hindu Priest (Pemangku) is also available if needed.
Traditional Balinese blessing ceremony is a symbolic Hindu wedding based on Balinese culture. Many couple who are already legally married or some reason don’t want to be legally married in Bali, but still wish to have experience how marriage by Balinese tradition, they choose Balinese Blessing Ceremony. It’s important to know this is not a legal wedding ceremony and no certification will be presented at the end of it. It is a ceremony where the celebrant should pray for good things such as: safety, health, bright future and happiness for the couple. It takes approximately 30 minutes in total, performed by a Balinese Celebrant and an assistant who guide the couple throughout the ceremony. It’s preferred that couples are dressed in Balinese costume.
Bali Wedding Butler prepare wedding offering just like normal Balinese people in Bali. Blessing ceremony include Minimum Balinese decoration from coconut leafs, traditional umbrellas, wedding offerings, holy water and yellow rice.
For the ceremony details, the wedding couple will pass three step of ceremony starting from cleansing ceremony by sprinkling holy water to the couple to purify the body, main ceremony is include buying and selling between bride and groom ceremony where you two pretend to do negotiation and buy something from the bride and give her back as a reward, kicking coconut ceremony where the bride is like kneeling on coconut and the groom kick the coconut so the bride can kneeling properly as a symbol of husband helps wife to solve her problems, then walk around the offering ceremony for three times together for bride and groom.
The last step is prayer ceremony where the couple raise their hands to forehead to say thank you as the ceremony goes well and to ask blessing for the marriage life. After prayer session the couple will feeding yellow rice to each other as a symbol of prosperity.
After those steps the couple can exchange vows, giving and receiving ring, wedding kiss then flower showers.
Both bride and groom will wear Balinese wedding attire called Payas Agung. Our stylist will come to your accommodation and it will take at least 3 hours for the hair and makeup and dressing for both bride and groom to be. Don’t worry for those who not confident about size as the wedding attire is fit for all size. For those who don’t think they would wear Balinese wedding attire, it will allowed to just wear basic sarong for groom and simple Balinese dress for bride to be.
The ceremony can be hold in your hotel, villa or stay in our Balinese style accommodation selection. Be aware that most of hotel will charge for venue hire when you use it for event especially wedding no matter whether there is just the two of you or some guests.
